Historic 1885 sea-view apartments on Lamlash Bay
Property & Grounds
Kinneil Self Catering is located in a property built by Clyde shipping magnate Captain W. Buchanan in 1885. All apartments are named after the paddle steamers he owned, such as Vesta, Eagle, Brodick Castle, and Petrel. Guests have use of a garden overlooking Lamlash Bay, with outdoor furniture and free on-site parking.
Apartments & Kitchens
Each apartment offers a lounge area with a TV/DVD player and panoramic views across Lamlash Bay to Holy Isle. Kitchens are fully equipped with a full-size oven, microwave, and fridge. Private bathrooms and heating are provided, and the property is non-smoking throughout.
Location & Transport
Kinneil is a 10-minute walk from Lamlash village centre and a 10-minute drive from the Brodick ferry terminal. The owners can arrange transport from the ferry terminal for guests arriving by boat. Free on-site parking is provided for those traveling by car.
Activities & Wildlife
The owners can arrange bike hire and provide maps for local walks in the surrounding area. Native wildlife such as eagles, red deer, and basking sharks can be spotted locally, with occasional red squirrel sightings. A coastal walk east reaches a nature conservation zone with seals, otters, and seabirds.
Guest Services
The owners meet guests on arrival and offer a personal welcome to the property. An invoice is provided for all bookings, and smoke alarms are installed for safety. The property is non-smoking throughout and includes a garden with outdoor furniture.
